Secoda review
Secoda by Atlassian is the best data catalog tool for teams already in the Atlassian ecosystem that want catalog and governance tooling tied into Jira and Confluence workflows, rather than a standalone catalog bolted on separately.
Strengths
- Unlimited viewers on every plan.
- Choice of US, EU or APAC hosting, or self-hosted.
- Chrome extension for Looker, Tableau, Snowflake and BigQuery.
Caveats
- No new releases found since Atlassian bought it in December 2025.
- PII detection only matches column names, not data values.
- Masking only hides columns in catalog previews.
When to look elsewhere
Ask for the roadmap in writing before choosing Secoda. For an actively developed catalog of similar size, consider Atlan or DataHub Cloud.
