DataHub Cloud review
DataHub Cloud is the best tool for data teams that want DataHub's capabilities without the operational overhead of self-hosting, or that need enterprise governance features and dedicated support beyond what the community edition provides.
Strengths
- Same open-source core as DataHub Core, so you can start free and move to Cloud.
- Agent registry, context evals and custom agents for AI use cases.
- OpenLineage support for runtime lineage.
Caveats
- Native policy enforcement isn't supported: platform syncs push tags, not access policies.
- Access workflows are still in private beta.
When to look elsewhere
Choose DataHub Cloud if you want DataHub without running it, plus AI agent features. If you can self-host, start with DataHub Core for free.

AI Asset Inventory: MLModel entities carry versions, owners, hyperparameters, training metrics and evaluation data, giving a queryable registry of models in the catalog (docs).
AI Lineage: MLModel aspects record the training data used to produce a model, linking models back to the datasets that trained them in the lineage graph (docs).
AI Agent Access Governance: Enforces fine-grained access controls at the context layer: policies govern which agents and service accounts can access which datasets, columns, business terms, and sensitivity-classified fields, and the same policy engine that governs human access applies to every agent request. Every context access is logged with provenance metadata (website).
